Elton John Dies In Rocket Ship

That’s the subject line of a spam I just got.  Not much more to say about it.  Sorta just stands on its own now, doesn’t it? A standout in creativity compared to some of the other subject lines currently in my spam folder:

Scarlett Johansson and her knockers

Always of interest, but what about them?  Are they here?  Now?  NAKED???

We fix your organism

My organism? Is that a reference to my penis?

Mega-huge dimension for you

I’m pretty sure that is reference to my penis.

All women will dream of you

Perhaps because of my new mega-huge dimension and perfectly functioning organism.

utter and complete domination now possible

Well, given the mega-huge dimension, functioning organism and all the women that dream of me, it’s kind of a given, no?

And if all that weren’t enough, I can also get Penisole at a great price!

ATTRACTIVE PRICE! Penisole $0.58

Still, they all pale in comparison to “Elton John Dies In Rocket Ship.”  So evocative. So weird. So ironic.

Is that a good thing or a bad thing? I’ve been trying to think of what to call this site that isn’t blog, because I despise the word. I’d prefer calling it a weblog (which sounds kinda like Star Trek) than a fucking BLOG. Ugh.

I like irreverent commentary and you do it well. I also like certain of Elton John’s early work. There was a soulfulness in his collaberation with Bernie Taupin that went deeper than the glitter. Think “Breaking the Waves.” I prefer when you’re not angry though. There seems enough of that these days. I also appreciate that you have put some effort into this space but have not tried to make it something it isn’t. There’s enough pretension these days as well. Salem, Mass is a beautiful town.
