Oddly enough, or maybe not that odd since I've agreed with you on a large number of points, I totally agree with you. I've been saying the same thing (not out loud, mind you, dinner party thing and all) for a couple of decades now. I actually don't do either, but it seems perfectly logical, and humane, to me to legalize both.

BTW - I'm not saying that legalization will solve drug addiction; merely that keeping it illegal makes the problem worse, not better.

He didn't actually - he wasn't collecting data for that reason. But I'm pretty sure that the women working legal brothels in NV don't get the shit kicked out of them 12 times a year. Plus, I think they get medical.

But it's simpler than that I think: this is something that should be allowed, simply because if a woman (or man) wants to charge for sex, and has another adult willing to pay for it, why the fuck should the government interfere?

Beyond that, I cannot think of a SINGLE positive thing that comes out of it being illegal, and a whole boatload of negative ones that do. So we infringe on someones pursuit of happiness (and ducats), while accomplishing an increase in violence and illegal behavior, not to mention the law enforcement dollars wasted trying to prevent some dude from copping a blow job for a few bucks.

I wonder if your investigator studied how prostitutes lives are different in places (how many are there?) that it's legal. Is there a white slave trade in Amsterdam? Are prostitutes more or less apt to be beaten, drug addicted unfortunates in the state of Nevada?
