I had not tasted mincemeat pies until I moved to Jolly olde England. Eek, they are hideous! Your Aussie meat pie sounds much better.
A Brit friend of ours made mincemeat pies that were excellent, but it helped that we knew not to expect meat. I’m a total pie gal…sweet or savory, doesn’t matter to me.
Fruitcake? Quite another story altogether. If you write about fruitcake, I’m going to have to have your god-status re-evaluated.
