Hey Churchie: That a Threat?

Haven’t you caused enough problems?
I’ve written a few times about the billboard in front of the church that I pass fairly often near my house.  Based on that sign, I’ve told you how to make big bucks sinning at home, talked about the SPF of Jesus, why I’d pick up Satan if I saw him [...]

Grindhouse

Movies, not meat.
Just finished watching Grindhouse Presents: Planet Terror, the Robert Rodriguez film that was part one of the Grindhouse double feature that ran in theaters a while back.  The second feature, Death Proof, is a Quentin Tarantino film which I saw some time ago on DVD and loved (don’t think for a second I’m [...]

Religious Ass

Literally.
If you don’t yet know that I’m no fan of religion, you haven’t read my posts whining about church advertising (one of which has one of my favorite homemade graphics, the Jesus sun block.)  But the church is really reaching out now: I’m watching some MMA tonight and noticed the following phrase on the ass [...]

Still More Church Ads

What’s Jesus’ SPF, Anyway?
At the risk of appearing obsessed, I’m posting yet two more advertisements from the church down the block. I’ve mentioned two others here and here, but these two are all kinds of wacky.
Ad The First:
Warning: Exposure to the son may prevent burning.
Very punny. But completely nonsensical. I mean, why is this [...]

More Church Advertising, And Still Confusing

There’s a new slogan up on my neighborhood church advertising board already. This is the same god marquee that I mentioned a couple of days ago. As near as I could tell, the saying they had running then was simply reminding people that they had made a good call if they had gone with christianity; [...]

Church Advertising.

There’s a church by our house that always has one of those light-up boards in front of it with pithy little pro-church sayings on it. It’s like a tiny little theater marquee, except it’s on the ground and doesn’t actually advertise anything fun.
Tonight they premiered a new slogan:
The best vitamin for a Christian is B1
Get [...]
